Precise location:
The valley Horgardalur - nearest city: Akureyri

Reason: In the winter is the temperature always below the freezing point and in valleys occur turbulence which thereby will change the structure in different directions.
Titel for our investigation programme:

"Transitions // Dynamic><Static conditions"

Thursday, October 10, 2013

Intensions - further investigations

Static><Dynamic:
- Dynamic structure >< Dynamic cladding
- Static structure >< Dynamic cladding
- Dynamic structure >< Static cladding

- Flexible material or flexible joins

- Dynamic in the summer and static in the winter - partly dictate/direct the transformation in the structure so it will make lee for the       wind in the winter

- Which visually influences will the frost have on the structure
Preprobe - Investigation_4
Winds ability to pass through unfrozen/frozen covering

Result: Slightly no change in winds ability to pass through the used fabric frozen or not. The surfaces will either way serve as protection from the wind.
Turbolens makes greater impact on the curtain we placed, than wind blowing directly through the fabric.

Preprobe - Investigation_3
Frost closing gaps on surface

Result: The frost will not fill out the greater gaps, at least not if you don't have a situation where there simultaneously is added water during the freezing process.
Smaller gaps within the fabric is covered by frost.
Preprobe - Investigation_2
Windlapse - Dynamic Structure(unfrozen) // Static structure(frozen)

Left: Windlapse - Structure >< affected by the wind >< dynamic structure
Right: Windlapse - Frozen (dynamic) structure >< not affected by the wind >< static structure
Preprobe - Investigation_1
Windlapse: Dynamic structure affected by the wind - Expansion

Book - Phase 3.1
